Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal was one such Kharku Singh who since childhood, served in Damdami Taksal under Sant Kartar Singh Ji and Sant Jarnail Singh Ji, dedicating himself to the Sikh struggle after June 1984. Bhai Sahib devoted his entire life to Sikhism and did not live a single day for himself.

Birth and Early Life

Bhai Kuldeep Singh was born in 1957 in the village of Muchhal, district Amritsar, to father S. Bachan Singh and mother Sardarni Surjit Kaur. He was one of six siblings, including Amrik Singh, Gurmeet Kaur, Balwinder Kaur, and Sukhwinder Singh.

His education began at the primary government school in Muchhal, where he studied up to the fifth grade. He continued his studies up to the eighth grade at the village Chhajalwadi school.

Sant Kartar Singh Ji

Bhai Kuldeep Singh ji experienced illness as a child, often fainting due to epileptic attacks. Despite medical treatments, his condition did not improve. Seeking help, his father S. Bachan Singh approached Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa, the revered leader of Mehta Damdami Taksal. He implored Sant Ji to pray to Guru Sahib Ji for Bhujhangi’s recovery, as medical interventions had proven ineffective.

In response, Sant Kartar Singh Ji assured, “Bhai Bachan Singh, do not worry. Enroll Bhujhangi in the school of Kalgidhar Dasmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Dasmesh Pita himself will care for him.” After this conversation, Bhai Sahib’s father returned to Muchhal.

During this time, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa was overseeing the filling of a pond with soil in Mehta village, where Sant Gurbhachan Singh Ji Khalsa got ‘Sachkhand Niwas’. Kar Sewa of Gurdwara Gurdarshan Prakash Mehta was underway but had to pause due to rain-damaged roads. Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa instructed some Singhs of the Jatha to prepare to visit Muchhal. Accompanied by Taksal’s Singhs, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa arrived at S. Bachan Singh’s house in Muchhal.

The family of Bachan Singh served langar to Sant Ji and the Taksali Singhs. Following this, Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale did Ardaas at the feet of Guru Sahib Ji, “Akal Purakh Waheguru, Guru Nanak-Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, Kuldeep Singh Bhujangi is admitted to serve in your house in Damdami Taksal. Oh true Lord, grant good health to the body of Bhujhangi and grant the courage for Guru’s Sewa and Simran. May he live a Gursikhi life until his last breath. Always protect him in every field.”

Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa Bhindranwala Ji then took Bhai Kuldeep Singh Bhujhangi to his Bhindranwala Damdami Taksal Jatha.

Job in Electricity Board

Due to Bhai Sahib’s family’s financial situation, Sant Kartar Singh Ji used to provide financial assistance to his family through the Taksal. Consequently, when Bhai Kuldeep Singh was still young, Sant Ji arranged for him to work as a lineman in the electricity board. However, Kuldeep Singh did not remain in this position for long; he eventually returned to the Jatha. This occurred during the lifetime of Sant Kartar Singh Ji.

13th April 1978

On April 13, 1978, a brutal massacre occurred on the land of Amritsar at the hands of fake Nirankaris. Thirteen Singhs from Damdami Taksal and Akhand Kirtni Jatha were martyred by the hired goons of Narakdhari Gurbachana. Additionally, more than 150 Singhs were injured in this tragic event. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal was among those seriously wounded, sustaining four bullet wounds.

Following the massacre, Bhai Kuldeep Singh expressed his desire to Sant Jarnail Singh Ji to seek retribution by assassinating Narakdhari Gurbachana. However, Sant Ji did not permit Bhai Kuldeep Singh to undertake this mission.

Subsequently, when Gurbachan was shot inside his bungalow in Delhi by Jujharu Singhs, along with his coordinator Partapa, Bhai Kuldeep Singh’s name was implicated by the police as one of the Sikh youths involved in the incident. This led to police raids in search of Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, initiating a cycle of police suppression at his home even before the events of 1984. Despite these challenges, Bhai Kuldeep Singh remained committed to participating in the Sikhi Parchar initiated by Sant Jarnail Singh Ji with unwavering courage and determination. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji personally conducted the Anand Karaj (marriage) ceremonies of Bhai Sahib’s sisters.

Bhai Sahib consistently resided with Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa and was prepared to follow Sant Ji’s every command. When Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa initiated a front against the Narakdharis and eliminated many Sikh enemies, the Punjab police suspected Bhai Kuldeep Singh’s involvement. Despite this, Bhai Sahib managed to evade the police.

Police Atrocities on Family

Bhai Sahib possessed a warm and carefree nature. When the police began harassing his family, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Ji expressed to Mata Surjit Kaur his deep commitment to restoring Sikh values, martial traditions, and the self-respect of Sikhs, along with upholding the principles of Bani-Bana. He declared, “I have ventured onto the battlefield to serve this cause. You (mother) and the family have to endure suffering because of me. If the police come to arrest you, do not hide in someone else’s house. Surrender yourself directly.” Mata Ji obediently followed her son’s instructions.

During the investigation of Gurbachan Nirankari’s murder case, the Delhi Police raided their home in village Muchhal and subjected Mata Surjit Kaur, father Bachan Singh, and brother to severe torture. Throughout the ordeal, Mata Ji continued to chant Waheguru Simran. The brother, a policeman, was dismissed from his job and imprisoned in Amritsar jail for five months. He was later released on bail after the court acquitted the family of the false charges.

June 1984

During the June 1984 turmoil, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal was collecting wheat with fellow sewadars from Damdami Taksal in the Jodhpur area of Rajasthan. The destruction of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Sri Akal Takht Sahib Amritsar, and 40 other Gurudwaras by the Government of India and Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s Army using guns and tanks, along with the massacre of thousands of innocent Sikhs including Singhanis, children, and elders, made Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, like many other innocent Singhs, realize the urgent need for a Khalsa state in the Sikh homeland. Following this brutal attack, Bhai Kuldeep Singh went into hiding.

The savage massacre of Sikhs following Indira Gandhi’s assassination in Delhi, where many Sikhs were burnt alive with burning tires around their necks, along with the gang rape of Sikh daughters and sisters, looting of Sikh properties, and the riots of June and November 1984, left the entire Sikh community feeling enslaved. In response, brave Singhs began to mobilize.

Bhai Kuldeep Singh Ji located other serving Singhs and began preparing for guerrilla warfare against India’s forces to establish a Sikh State, in accordance with earlier instructions from Sant Bhindranwale

Khalistan Liberation Force

Following the Army’s assault on the Golden Temple in June 1984, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira, Jathedar Durga Singh Arifke, Bhai Manbir Singh Chaheru, Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahl, Wasan Singh Zafarwal, Bhai Mathra Singh, Bhai Dhanna Singh Bahadarpur, Bhai Gurdev Singh Usmanwala, Giani Arur Singh Dala, Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar Dasuwal, and Bhai Anokh Singh Babar Suba Waring Singh were among those who rekindled the Sikh struggle. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal joined the KLF group, serving alongside Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira and Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma.

Jathedar Durga Singh Arifke, a courageous and agile leader of the KLF, led the Singhs in bold attacks on security forces and the CRPF. Village councils (ਸੱੱਥ) often praised the bravery of Jathedar Durga Singh Arikfe, General Avtar Singh Brahma, and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal. The Kharku Singhs established the Khalistan Liberation Force, with Giani Arur Singh, a member of the Panthic Committee, as its leader. After Giani Arur Singh’s arrest, the resolute Singhs appointed Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma as the general of the Khalistan Liberation Force, with Bhai Kuldeep Singh as the joint commander.

Bhai Kuldeep Singh had a longstanding connection with Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira. Together, they played a crucial role in freeing Sri Akal Takht Sahib from the control of the then Chief Minister Surjit Barnala. General Brahma and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal were united in the Sikh struggle. These Singhs owned seven horses of the finest breed, using them extensively to transport bullets and weapons.

Village Rattoke (Tarn Taran) Encounter

In 1987, the wedding of Bhai Kuldeep Singh’s brother, Sukhwinder Singh, took place in the village of Rattoke, near Valtoha. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, accompanied by his comrades Bhai Sher Singh, Bhai Bohar Singh, Bhai Pipal Singh Dholewal, Bhai Durga Singh Arifke, Bhai Gurdev Singh Usmanwala, and several other Singhs, attended the event at Rattoke.

During the Anand Karaj ceremony, Indian forces, along with the Punjab Police and CRPF, received information and swiftly cordoned off the village. The authorities were already aware that other Kharku fighters, including Muchhal, would likely attend the wedding.

The Punjab government and police had made extensive arrangements, including the deployment of helicopters, as the activities of the Khalistan Liberation Force posed a significant challenge to the Indian government.

A Police encounter took place. During the encounter, Bhai Sher Singh was martyred, while Bhai Arur Singh and another Singh were arrested. However, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, with the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on his head, and other Singhs performing Chaur Sahib and various services, managed to escape the police cordon with remarkable bravery.

Later that evening, General Avtar Singh Brahma launched an attack on the returning CRPF vehicles. Some Singhs, including Jathedar Durga Singh, Bhai Gurdev Singh Usmanwala, Bhai Pipal Singh, and Bhai Bohar Singh, escaped under the cover of darkness.

Several police officers harbored animosity towards Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal. Amritsar SSP Mohammad Izhar Alam, DSP Gurbachan Singh, DSP Harpal Singh, among others, attacked Bhai Kuldeep Singh’s family and besieged many places. Despite their efforts, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal consistently managed to escape, attributed to the grace of Guru Sahib

Shibu Ram Thanedar

Shibu Ram, the Station In-charge of Chohla Sahib Chowki, was known for his intolerant behavior. No vehicle in the market, be it a car, bus, truck, jeep, scooter, or motorcycle, could pass without his permission. In his presence, even a bicycle bell couldn’t be rung in Chohla Sahib’s market. He had a passion for humiliating people through curses and was extremely arrogant. During this time, General Avtar Singh Brahma and his fellow Singhs were renowned in the area, with the Indian government placing a reward of lakhs of rupees on their heads. Shibu Ram harbored dreams of attaining the rank of DSP by arresting General Avtar Singh Brahma.

Shibu Thanedar would beat people and demand the surrender of Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma and his fellow Singhs. Among the rural Sikhs, General Avtar Singh Brahma was known as the ‘Raja’ (king) of Mand. The bravery of Bhai Brahma was a topic of discussion in meetings from Chief of Police Ribeiro to Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram. Shibu Ram would get irritated at the mention of General Avtar Singh Brahma and would often say, “I want to see this Brahmi, who is she?”

When Durga Singh, a follower of Bhai Brahma, learned that Shibu Ram Thanedar referred to General Avtar Singh Brahma as Brahmi, he was incensed. Initially, he contemplated teaching Shibu Ram a lesson. However, he then decided that Shibu’s desire to see Brahma should be fulfilled. Durga Singh exclaimed, “Hurry, let him see this Brahma. Otherwise, the Khalsa is doomed.”

Jathedar Durga Singh respectfully asked, “Sir, if I arrange for you to catch Brahma Sahib, will you claim the reward placed on his head, or will it go to the person who helps you catch him?”

The Thanedar replied, “Innocent friend, once you show me Brahma, the reward for his capture will be yours. You will receive a letter from the DIG Police, a chair in the police station, and you will be respected by the government. It will be a lifetime reward package for you.”

Bhai Durga Singh left the tea shop and promised to arrange for the capture of Bhai Brahma. He then met with the Singhs of the Jatha and informed them that Shibu, the Station In-charge of Chohla Sahib Chowki, was eager to see Bhai Brahma Singh. He proposed giving Shibu the rank of DSP and the opportunity to meet Brahma Singh. The Singhs prepared for the meeting, with Brahm Singh Ji wearing a shirt and pajama and a turban. Surinder Singh Lamba Jatt was appointed as the attendant, while Pippal Singh, Bohar Singh, Bhola Singh, and Jarnail Singh DC were responsible for serving buffet, tea, and water. Gurdev Singh Usmanwala and Kuldeep Singh Muchhal were in charge of the Milni (traditional meeting hug), and Bhai Durga Singh arranged for Shibu to meet Bhai Brahma one-on-one.

Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma accepted Jathedar Durga Singh’s proposal by chanting the Jaikara of Sat Sri Akal. They positioned themselves with guns at the Kharewala bridge on the canal. The Kharku Singh sent a message to Shibu Ram, stating that Brahma Nihang, intoxicated with Sukha, was walking unarmed on road of from Chohla Sahib to Sarhali. Balwinder Singh delivered the message, saying, “A fat Jat sent me to you, who had met you earlier. He sends the message that the Thanedar Sahib can kill Brahm Singh with just a foot sleeper, and he is keeping an eye on him.”

The police officer, elated, took four policemen and a boy of the Pandit Family in a private car from the market, along with some other civilians in a jeep, and set off from Chohla Sahib to Sarhali road to capture Brahma.

On their return journey, as they approached the Kharewala canal bridge, Jathedar Durga Singh signaled the jeep to stop. In front of them stood a Sikh youth in a white shirt and pajama, with a saffron turban tied, in the middle of the bridge. Jathedar Durga Singh declared, “Thanedar, you always wanted to see Brahmi. Well, here he is—Jathedar Avatar Singh Brahma.” With the speed of a leopard, Jathedar Durga Singh stepped aside, and the Singhs positioned along the bridge started firing from their weapons, shouting Sat Sri Akal.

Shibu Ram, the dreamer of a DSP rank, the driver of the jeep, and another civilian boy fell victim to the Singhs’ bullets. The Singh also took ammunition from the policemen’s vehicles on their return journey. The next day’s newspapers reported, “During a terrorist ambush on the Kharewala canal bridge, the Thanedar of Chohla Sahib police post, Shibu Ram, and two civilians were killed. Four policemen were injured. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search for the terrorists.” This incident occurred in 1986.

In the case related to the Shibu Ram incident on the Kharewala canal bridge, the police accused Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, along with Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma and Bhai Durga Singh Arifke.

Mand Operation –July 1986

During this period, a search for General Avtar Singh Brahma and his fellow Singhs was conducted under the supervision of Chief of Police Ribeiro, leading to the Mand operation on July 20-21, 1986. Thousands of CRPF, Punjab Police, and BSF personnel crossed the river, surrounded the Mand area, and attempted to apprehend the Singhs from the riverbanks. Under the command of General Avtar Singh Brahma, Jathedar Durga Singh, and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal, the Singhs shot down a helicopter that was searching for them, resulting in the death of all the officers on board. Following this daring act, General Brahma, Jathedar Durga Singh Arifke, and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Despite the police’s claim that the helicopter crashed into a tall tree, Jathedar Durga Singh, General Avtar Singh Brahma, and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal took responsibility for downing it. While the Khadku Singh escaped, the police captured innocent Sikh boys who were farmers and buffalo herders. The newspapers reported that many of Brahma and Muchhal’s companions had been captured by the security forces during the Mand operation, and the search for Brahma, Muchhal, and Durga Singh was ongoing.

As the Singhs moved away from the security forces’ perimeter, the police brought the captured innocent Sikhs to the riverbank and shot them dead to demonstrate their authority. It is said that the heads of the martyred Singhs were severed and displayed at the crossroads near Ghadka village as a brutal tactic to instill fear in the Sikh community and assert government dominance.

Abohar’s Redical Doctor

Once, there was a radical anti-Sikh preacher doctor from Abohar who frequently used derogatory language against Sikhism and Kharkus, enjoying full government support. He propagated false information to defame the Kharkus. Despite several warnings from the Singhs, he remained defiant due to his government backing. Eventually, when the organization assigned Bhai Kuldeep Singh to deal with the situation, he noticed the doctor’s government security detail and devised a plan. Bhai Sahib disguised himself in a police uniform, rode a horse, and shot the Redical Doctor in broad daylight.

Following this incident, the police launched a swift pursuit. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal’s name was included in a ‘Khubban case’ by the government, and a reward of one lakh rupees was placed on his head.

Martyrdom – 27 October 1987

An informer from Varhian village in Tehsil Tarn Taran betrayed the Singhs by hiding their weapons. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal and Bhai Bittu Singh Manan, along with two other Singhs, one from village Arifke in Ferozepur district, were resting at Modh Singh’s farmhouse. It was later revealed that the farmhouse owner had collaborated with the enemy forces as an informant.

Thinking the family to be trustworthy, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal left his weapons inside the house and sat outside under a tree. Unbeknownst to these Singhs, the head of the house had conspired with the enemy forces to betray them. They only realized this when the enemy forces suddenly surrounded them. The Singhs rushed inside the farmhouse to retrieve their weapons but found the room locked.
In a hurry, the elderly lady present there was asked for the key to unlock the room. However, she became flustered and started shouting at the children, but no one was able to find the key.

With no other option, the Singhs attempted to defend themselves with their Gatra Kirpans. One Singh was martyred, but the police managed to capture Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal and Bhai Bittu Singh alive, along with another Singh. Upon being captured, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal falsely claimed they were from Khabbe village. The CRPF and Punjab Police took the Singhs to Khabbe village, where a trusted person had previously offered to help them in such situations. However, this time, both the villagers of Varhian and Khabbe cooperated with the police, and the trusted person turned traitor, refusing to aid the Singhs.

The police and CRPF then took all the Singhs to Sarhali police station and later to Tarn Taran police station, where they were tortured. Despite enduring brutal torture, including having salt and pepper rubbed into their wounds, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal and his companions maintained their composure and did not reveal any organizational secrets.

Unable to break the Singhs’ resolve, the police resorted to a fake encounter. On the night of October 27, 1987, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal and Bhai Bittu Singh Manan were shot dead near Jamastpur drain, closer to Manochahal, in a fake police encounter. The newspapers the next day falsely glorified the police’s actions, portraying the encounter as a display of bravery.

News Headlines – 28 October 1987

The headlines on October 28, 1987, highlighted the death of Deputy General Muchhal of the Khalistan Liberation Force in a police encounter, along with his colleague Bittu.

Reportedly, a deputy of the Khalistan Liberation Force was killed in a confrontation with the Punjab Police in the villages near Jamsatpur’s Drain, close to Manochhal in Tehsil Tarn Taran (now district). The Punjab Police and CRPF were on patrol when they encountered some suspicious individuals and opened fire. The security personnel were met with return fire, leading to a two-hour-long exchange. Upon searching the area, the bodies of two Sikh Kharkus were discovered, along with numerous weapons and ammunition.

The deceased Kharkus were identified as members of the Khalistan Liberation Force led by General Avtar Singh Brahma’s faction. Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal was known for his involvement in various incidents, including the killing of several Nirankaris, including Nirankari Gurbachan Sihun. He was also linked to ambushing the vehicle of Chohla Chowki Thanedar Shiv Singh and CRPF vehicles in the Manakpur (Patti) encounter. During one such ambush, General Avtar Singh Brahma was injured, losing a finger due to a bullet.

After martyrdom

Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal was cremated by the police in the crematorium of Tarn Taran. The village Panchayat and family came and took the body of Bhai Bittu Singh Manhan from the Tarn Taran Crematorium. The recitations of Sri Akhand Sahib ji for the spiritual peace of Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchhal were held at his house in village Muchhal. During the Bhog ceremony, the Singhs of Damdami Taksal performed Vairagamai Kirtan. The Head Granthi Singh Sahib of Sri Harimandar Sahib, Puran Singh, Bhai Manjit Singh, Baba Charan Singh Ji Bir Sahib Wale, and Kavishar Joga Singh Jogi were also present.

In recognition of his loyalty and sacrifice to the Sikh community, Bhai Muchhal, the brave warrior of the Khalsa Panth, was revered as a priceless diamond. Baba Charan Singh Ji Bir Sahib of Kar Seva conducted the service of offering Nishan Sahib at the Gurdwara Sahib of village Muchchal in memory of Shaheed Bhai Kuldeep Singh Muchchal.

ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ

ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ: ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਸੰਨ 1957 ਵਿਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ 5 ਭੈਣ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ : ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ, ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਤਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅੱਠਵੀਂ ਤਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਛੱਜਲਵੱਡੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ

ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਤੇ ਮਿਰਗੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਾਉਣ “ਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ। ਪਿਤਾ ਸ: ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਤੇ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗਾ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਆਉਣਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ, ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਇਲਾਜ ਬਥੇਰਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਕੋਈ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰੋ ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-ਭਾਈ ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਤੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਲਗੀਧਰ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲ ‘ਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਆਪੇ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨਗੇ । ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਆ ਗਏ ।

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਇਹਨੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਵਾਸੀ ਸੰਤ ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਬਿਰਾਜਣ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਹਿਤਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਛੱਪੜ ‘ਚ ਗੱਡਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ `ਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ (ਮਹਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਰੰਭ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ, ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਤੇ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਪਿਆ। ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਨੇ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੰਘੋ, ਆਪਾਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਜਾਣਾ, ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰੋ। ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਸ; ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ।

ਸ: ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ‘ਚ ਲੰਗਰ ਜਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਛਕਾਇਆ । ਉਪਰੰਤ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ‘ਚ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ-ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ, ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ-ਘਰ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀਉ, ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਰੋਗਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣੀ, ਸੇਵਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਉੱਦਮ-ਬਲ ਬਖ਼ਸਣਾ। ਸਿੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਸਿੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਿਦਕ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਸਵਾਸਾਂ ਸੰਗ ਨਿਭਾਉਣਾ । ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ, ਹਰ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਪੈਜ ਰੱਖਣੀ।

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਥੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਗਏ।

ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਅੰਤਮ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਲਈ ਬਿਤਾਇਆ । ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਵਈ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ-ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ। ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਨਦਾਹੜੀਏ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਥੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈ ਮੁੱਛਲ, ਬਾਬਾ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ । ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੇ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ‘ਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਸੰਥਿਆ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਦੀ ਸੰਥਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ।

ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਪਾਤਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਕ ਸਮਝੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ।

ਬਿਜਲੀ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ

ਆਪ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਲੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਠੀਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸਮੇਂ- ‘ ਸਮੇਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸੇ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੱਭਰੂ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਬੋਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਈਨਮੈਨ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਲੁਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਥੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਹਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਸਨ ਕੀਤੇ ।

13 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 1978

13 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 1978 ਨੂੰ ਨਕਲੀ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਪਰੇ ਖ਼ੂਨੀ ਸਾਕੇ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ 13 ਸਿੰਘ ਨਰਕਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਬਚਨੇ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਤੂ ਗੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ 150 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਿੰਘ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਇਸ ਖ਼ੂਨੀ ਸਾਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸੇ ਹੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੋਂ ਨਰਕਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਬਚਨੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਧਾਈ ਲਈ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਮੰਗੀ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ।

ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਚਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਉਸਦੇ ਬੰਗਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਤਾਪੇ ਜੁੰਡੀ ਦੇ ਯਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਕਾਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਲਿਸਟ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਛਾਪੇ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਘਰ `ਤੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦਾ ਦਮਨ-ਚੱਕਰ ਸੰਨ 1984 ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਰੰਭ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਰੰਭ ਕੀਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਆਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਦ-ਕਾਰਜ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ।

ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਣ ਲਈ ਤਤਪਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਰਕਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜਹਾਦ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ-ਨਰਕਧਾਮ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਸ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹੇ।

ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਿੱਘੇ ਤੇ ਅਣਖੀਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾਈ, ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਰਵਾਇਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਸਵੈਮਾਣ, ਬਾਣੀ-ਬਾਣੇ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਲੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਣਤੱਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਜੂਝਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਝੱਲਣੇ ਪੈਣੇ ਹਨ। ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੜਨ ਆਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੁਕਣਾ, ਸਿੱਧਾ ਸਿਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।

ਗੁਰਬਚਨੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ਕਤਲ ਕਾਂਡ ਵਿਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ‘ਤੇ ਛਾਪਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ। ਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪਿਤਾ ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੇ ਘੋਰ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ । ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਤਸੀਹੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਪਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਕੇਸ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਸਮਿਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, 5 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਡੱਕੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ‘ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ । ਬਾਅਦ ‘ਚ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ਝੂਠੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਜੂਨ 1984 ਘਲੂਘਾਰਾ

ਜੂਨ 1984 ਦੇ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਥੀ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜੋਧਪੁਰ (ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ) ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ‘ਚ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਉਗਰਾਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਧੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਤੇ 40 ਹੋਰ ਗੁਰਧਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੋਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਟੈਂਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ, ਸਿੰਘਣੀਆਂ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ, ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਣਖੀਲੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੂਪੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਦਿੱਲੀ ‘ਚ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ, ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਾਂ ‘ਚ ਬਲਦੇ ਟਾਇਰ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਸਾੜਨਾ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੁਹਿਕ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਲੁੱਟਣ ਦੇ ਸੰਨ 1984 ਦੇ ਜੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੰਬਰ ਦੇ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ‘ਤੇ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਾਮਬੰਦ ਹੋਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ

ਜੂਨ 1984 ਦੇ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਖੀਰਾ, ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਰਫਕੇ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਹੇੜੂ, ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨੋਚਾਹਲ, ਵੱਸਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਜ਼ਫ਼ਰਵਾਲ, ਭਾਈ ਮਥਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਧੰਨਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਸਮਾਨਵਾਲਾ, ਗਿ: ਅਰੂੜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ, ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੱਬਰ ਦਾਸੂਵਾਲ, ਭਾਈ ਅਨੋਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਬਾ ਵੜਿੰਗ ਸਿੰਘ, ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਮਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ, ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਖ਼ੀਰਾ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਤੇ ਫੁਰਤੀਲਾ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ, ਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਫੋਰਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ‘ਤੇ ਬੜੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਮਲੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਹਿਲਕਾ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਖਾੜਕੂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਰੂੜ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਥਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਨ, ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਰੂੜ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਥਾਪਿਆ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਮੀਤ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਨ।

ਆਪਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਖੀਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸੀ। ਭਾਈ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਖੀਰਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਓਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਬਰਵਾਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁੰਡਾ-ਧਾੜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਜਨਰਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ, ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ‘ਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਵਿਚਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਵਧੀਆ ਨਸਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤ ਘੋੜੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਸਫਰ ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ-ਸਿੱਕਾ ਤੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਘੋੜੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲਿਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ।

ਪਿੰਡ ਰੱਤੋਕੇ (ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ) ਦੀ ਬਰਾਤ

ਸਾਲ 1987 ਨੂੰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਰੱਤੋਕੇ (ਵਲਟੋਹੇ ਨੇੜੇ) ਢੁੱਕੀ। ਇਸ ਬਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਭਾਈ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਬੋਹੜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਪਿੱਪਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਸਮਾਨਵਾਲਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਤੋਕੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ।

ਅਨੰਦ ਕਾਰਜ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਮੁਖ਼ਬਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਨੇ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਖਿਆਲ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਬਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ।

ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਅਰੰਭ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਭਾਈ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਭਾਈ ਅਰੂੜ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਗਏ, ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਿਰ `ਤੇ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ, ਕੁਝ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੋਰ, ਜਲ ਛਿੜਕਣ ਤੇ ਘੜਿਆਲ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਬੇਖੋਫ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਫ਼ੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਫ਼ਾਂ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੇ।

ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਕੁਝ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੋ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਸ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਛਿਪੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਸਮਾਨਵਾਲਾ, ਭਾਈ ਪਿੱਪਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਬੋਹੜ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਤ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋਣ ‘ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਣ ‘ਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਤਿਲਮਿਲਾਏ ਕਈ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਾਸਾਂ `ਚੋਂ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਆਲਮ, ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਹਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਦਿ ਨੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਅੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਸ਼ੋਦਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਕਈ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵੀ ਪਾਏ, ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਯੂ.ਪੀ. ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਏ ਘੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੀ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚੌਕੀ ਦੇ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਅੱਤ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ‘ਚ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰ, ਬੱਸ, ਟਰੱਕ, ਜੀਪ, ਸਕੂਟਰ, ਮੋਟਰ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ। ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ‘ਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਦੀ ਘੰਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਵਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਗਾਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਉਸਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਗਲ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਹੰਕਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਮੁੱਛਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਟ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਫੂੰਹ ਫੁੰਕਾਰਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ, ਇਲਾਕੇ ‘ਚ ਪੁਰੀ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਜਮਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਲਾਕੇ ‘ਚ ਇਹਨੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਧੁੰਮ ਸੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਨੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਇਨਾਮ ਰੱਖੇ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਡੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਪੀ. ਦੇ ਰੈਂਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਭਾਈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਲੋਕ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੁੱਟ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਖ਼ਾਮੋਸ਼ ਸਨ, ਸੂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਦੇਂਦੇ। ਪੇਂਡੂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਡ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਖੀ ਰਿਬੈਰੋ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪੀ. ਚਿਦੰਬਰਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਰਚਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਿੜਦਾ ਸੀ, ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ-ਮੈਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਵੇਖਣੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ?

ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਰਦਿਲ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਤਨ-ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਏਥੇ ਹੀ ਚਾਟਾ ਛਕਾ ਦੇਵਾਂ । ਫਿਰ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਛਿੱਬੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਹਲਾ, ਇਸਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰਾਈਏ ? ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਖ਼ਾਲਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਜ਼ ਹੈ।

ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਠਰੰਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਨਾਬ ਜੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਵਾ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਪਰ ਰਖਿਆ ਇਨਾਮ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ਜਾਂ ਫੜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ?

ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ–ਭੋਲਿਆ ਜੱਟਾ, ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਵਿਖਾ ਦੇ, ਸਿਰ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਇਨਾਮ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੇ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਵੱਧੇਗਾ ਮੇਰਾ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਰਿਬੈਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ, ਤੇ ਥਾਣੇ ‘ਚ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਸਰਕਾਰੇ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਕਰੀਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ । ਭਾਈ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਚਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ‘ਚੋਂ ਅਣਦੱਸੀ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ। ਅੱਗੇ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚੌਕੀ ਦਾ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਬੜਾ ਕਾਹਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਡੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਪੀ. ਦਾ ਰੈਂਕ ਵੀ ਦਿਵਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੀ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ । ਸਿੰਘੋ ਤਿਆਰੇ ਕਰੋ । ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਕਮੀਜ਼ ਪਜਾਮਾ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਪੋਚਵੀਂ ਪੱਗ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਵੀਂ, ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ, ਲਾਗੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੰਬਾ ਜੱਟ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਨ ਚਾਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਪਿੱਪਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬੋਹੜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭੋਲਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਡੀ.ਸੀ., ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਸਮਾਨਵਾਲਾ, ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਸੰਭਾਲਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ।

ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਤਜਵੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਜੈਕਾਰੇ ਗਜਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ‘ਤੇ ਨਹਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਖਾਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੁਲ ‘ਤੇ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਮੱਲ ਲਏ। ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਛਿਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਲਈ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਸੁੱਖੇ ਦਾ ਰੱਜਿਆ, ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਹਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੜਕ ‘ਤੇ ਘੁੰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤੀ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਅੱਜ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਨਾਬ, ਇਕ ਮੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਜੱਟ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੋ ਅੱਜ ਛਿੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਆ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੱਟ ਉਸ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਰੱਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਕੁ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਪ ‘ਚ ਮਹਿਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ, ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਲਈ ਜੀਪ ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲ ਪਈ।

ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਸੁੱਖੀ-ਸਾਂਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ, ਜਦੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜਦਿਆਂ ਖਾਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਲ “ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜੀਪ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਈ, ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਚਿੱਟੀ ਕਮੀਜ਼ ਪਜਾਮੇ ‘ਚ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਪੋਚਵੀਂ ਪੱਗ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਪੁਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ। ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ ਦੇਖਣੀ ! ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿੰਘ,“ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਖੜਾ ਈ, ਪਸੰਦ ਈ ਕਰ ਲੈ । ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਤੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਫੁਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਪੁਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਮੱਲੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਜੈਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਫਾਇਰਿੰਗ ਖੋਹਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਡੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਪੀ. ਬਣਨ ਦੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਵੇਟ ਗੱਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਪ ਦੇ ਡਰਾਇਵਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਿਵਲੀਅਨ ਪੰਡਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ । ਸਿੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲੀ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੀ, ਖਾਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੌਕੀ ਦਾ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਦੋ ਸਿਵਲੀਅਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ । ਚਾਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਫੋਰਸਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ 1986 ਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਖਾਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿੱਬੂ ਰਾਮ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਕਾਂਡ ਦੇ ਕੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ।

ਮੰਡ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ

ਇਹਨੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਹੀ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ‘ਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਖੀ ਰਿਬੈਰੋ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ 5 ਸਾਵਣ, 20-21 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1986 ਨੂੰ ਮੰਡ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ., ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੇ ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਫ. ਦੇ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਮੰਡ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਛੰਭ ਝੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਂਡ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਫੁੰਡ ਕੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਅਫਸਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ । ਇਸ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਜਨਰਲ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਉਠਾ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਰਹੀ ਕਿ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਅੜ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਿਆ, ਪਰ ਜੱਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਸੀ। ਖਾੜਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਂ ਬਚ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਏ, ਖੇਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਮੱਝਾਂ ਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਮੰਡ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਫੋਰਸਾਂ ਨੇ ਫੜ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਮੁੱਛਲ ਤੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਫੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਣ ‘ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਮੋਸ਼ੀ ‘ਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਫੜੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਿਆ ਕੰਢੇ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਕਿ ਘੜਕਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਲਾਗੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਚੌਰਾਹਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਟੰਗੇ ਗਏ, ਇਹ ਕਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।

ਅਬੋਹਰ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਕਾਂਡ

ਇਕ ਵੇਰ ਅਬੋਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਖਾੜਕੂਆਂ ਖਿਆਫ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਪਸ਼ਬਦ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਿਹ ਸੀ । ਉਹ ਖਾੜਕੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਝੂਠਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ । ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵੇਰ ਵਾਰਨਿੰਗ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਿਹ ਸਦਕਾ ਨਾ ਟਲਿਆ । ਅੰਤ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਡਿਉਟੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੁਰਖਿਆ ਘੇਰਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਤਿਹਤ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇਕ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਰੋਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਰਦੀ ਪਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੋਧਾ ਲਗਾ ਆਏ ।

ਇਸ ਕਾਂਡ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੈ ਗਈ । ਇਕ ਖੁੱਬਨ ਕਾਂਡ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ । ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ -27 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1987

ਤਹਿਸੀਲ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਮੋਹਤਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਘੇਰਾ ਪੁਆਇਆ। ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੰਨਣ, ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਆਰਫ਼ ਕੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੋਰ, ਚਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੋਧ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਬੰਬੀ ‘ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ । ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ਼ਬਰ ਬਣ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ।

ਉਕਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਥਕ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਹੋਰੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਘਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਕਤ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਜਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਓਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ, ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਫ਼ੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾੜਾਂ ਸਿਰ ‘ਤੇ ਆ ਚੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ।  ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਸਤਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਠਾਹਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇ ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੋਟਾ ਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਲਮਕਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਂ ਪਿਆ। ਕਾਹਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਬਿਰਧ ਬੀਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਚਾਬੀ ਮੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੇਬੇ ਨਿਆਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ, ਪਰ ਚਾਬੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਇਆ।

ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਚਾਰਾ ਨਾ ਚਲਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਾਤਰੇ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਪਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇੱਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੋਰਸਾਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। ਫੜੇ ਜਾਣ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੱਬੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੋਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਬੇ ਲੈ ਗਈ, ਉਥੋਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਰਨਦਾਤਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀੜ ਪੈ ਵੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਆਉਣਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਚਲਦੀ ਆ ਪੁਲਿਸ ‘ਚ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਨਜਿੱਠ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਇਕ ਵੇਰ ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ‘ਚੋਂ ਛੁਡਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਵਾਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਲ ਕੇ, ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ-ਪਾਤਰ ਵੀ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਧਰੋਹੀ ਬਣ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤੇ ਕੀ ਵਾਹ ਲਾਉਣੀ ਸੀ, ਮੱਥੇ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਵੀ ਮੁਨਾਸਬ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ।

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਚੌਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਥਾਣੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਥਾਣੇ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪੱਟ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੂਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਰਚਾਂ ਤਕ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਹੱਸ-ਹੱਸ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦਕ ਭੇਤ ਨਾ ਲੈ ਸਕੀ।

ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਦਕ ਅੱਗੇ, ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਿੰਦਗੀ ‘ਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਫ਼ੇਲ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਇਸੇ ਰਾਤ ਜਮੱਸਤਪੁਰ ਰੋਹੀ ਤੇ (ਨੇੜੇ ਮਾਣੋਚਾਹਲ) ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ 27 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1987 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ‘ਚ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਲੱਗ ਗਈਆਂ।

ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰੀ ਸੁਖੀਆਂ -28 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1987

ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ 28 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1987 ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰਾਂ ‘ਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੀ, ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਲਾਕ, ਸਾਥੀ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਵੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਪੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤਹਿਸੀਲ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ (ਹੁਣ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ) ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਜਮੱਸਤਪੁਰ, ਰੋਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੋਚਾਹਲ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਏ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਰਾਤ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੋਂ- ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਫਾਇਰਿੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਅੱਗੋਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਜਵਾਬੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਚਲਾਈ ਜੋ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਦੋ ਘੰਟੇ ਤਕ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਬਾਅਦ ‘ਚ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀ ਲੈਣ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ-ਸਿੱਕਾ ਵੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਖ਼ਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਿਬਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੱਜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿਹੁੰ ਸਮੇਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਥ ਸੀ, ਚੋਹਲਾ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਦੇ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ‘ਤੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ, ਮਾਣਕਪੁਰ (ਪੱਟੀ) ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ‘ਚ ਸੀ.ਆਰ.ਪੀ. ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਨੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ‘ਚ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਗੋਲੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ।

ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਨਘਾਟ ‘ਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਿੰਡ ਮੰਨਣ ਦੀ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਭਾਈ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੰਨਣ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਨਘਾਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਈ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਖੰਡ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਪਾਏ ਗਏ । ਭੋਗ ਮੌਕੇ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੈਰਾਗਮਈ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਹੈੱਡ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿ: ਪੂਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬੀੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਾਲੇ, ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰ ਜੋਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਭਰੀ।

ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਪਰਤੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਯੋਧਾ, ਅਨਮੋਲ ਹੀਰਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ । ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਲੰਗਰ ਅਤੁੱਟ ਵਰਤਿਆ । ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬੀੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੁੱਛਲ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
